What’s SEO – On-Page Optimization

What is SEO

On-page optimization will be the first step in setting up a search engine friendly post or page on your site. What you do here could have a huge effect on your site so it’s important to get the basics or the foundation for your posts right and that will make the Off-Page stuff count for more.

According to where you learn this, your answer will vary greatly, on the other hand, will share the techniques I use for this very site which helped me to rank my pages and posts better. They are H tags (H1, H2, H3), text formatting, pictures (and alt tags), videos, keyword density, URL, external linking and internal linking. These factors can play a major part in optimizing your on-page SEO. Should you look at this very page, you will see that I have used most of these factors.

The title of my post is often a H1 tag. The subtitles on the page must be H2 and H3 tags, so you have all three tags covered at least once on your page. You will need that the phrase “what is SEO” to have text formatting; namely it can be bolded, italicized and underlined at least on the page. I additionally would have images on the page with my keyword as the file name, title in the image and ALT tag from the image also. There’d be a video on the page. My keyword density for that phrase “What is SEO” is around 1% (anywhere from 1-5% is good although 2-4% is right). The link to the page has got the keyword in it. Normally I’d have an external link using my keyword to an authority site (often I just link to Google or Wikipedia). The very last thing you want to consider is internal linking. For basic internal linking its good to generate a link towards the bottom of each post or page to a relevant post or page on your site. Most of these things let Google or any search results that this page is focused on “what is SEO.” This can help tremendously when it comes to ranking plus if you’re likely to be using eBay auctions on your site it will let Google know what types of ads to show

Search Engine Optimization very essential element to any business to have a web presence intended to be successful as a business.
